This workshop was held at the Health Research Institute, Chiangmai University. The resource person of this workshop was Emeritus Prof. Don McNeil. Assistants were Assistant Professor Apiradee Lim and Dr Pojamas Chuangchang from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus. See http://www.rihes.cmu.ac.th/news/7997/ for more information.
It covered classical statistical and machine learning methods (recursive partitioning, random forest and neural network).
Performance of predictions from these methods were compared using health data. Participants used Rstudio software for practicing data analysis. Rstudio is an integrated development environment for R which is more convenient for beginning R users.
